Lemon Carrot Dal Recipe

Jamie Oliver is a great chef from UK, here he shares one Indian recipe from Britishcarrots.co.uk. Dal (or Dhal or Dahl) is a popular and staple food in India.
Lemony Carrot Dhal Recipe:
Ingredients
30ml/2tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
450g/1lb carrots, peeled and chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 green chilli, deseeded and chopped
2.5cm/1in piece root ginger, peeled and chopped
225g/8oz split red lentils
15ml/1tbsp medium curry paste
zest and juice 2 lemons
1.15ltr/2pts vegetable stock
30ml/2tbsp chopped fresh coriander
salt and freshly ground black pepper
coriander to garnish
rice and/or naan bread to serve
Method
1. Heat the oil in a large pan, add the onion and carrots and sauté for 3-4mins. Add the garlic, chilli, ginger and sauté for 1min.
2. Stir in the lentils, curry paste, lemon zest and juice and stock. Bring to the boil, then cover and simmer for 25-30mins or until the carrots are tender and the lentils have broken down. Remove from the heat, stir in the coriander and season to taste. Serve hot with rice and naan bread.

Charlie Simpson,7, raises more than 120,000 pounds for Children in Haiti

Charlie Simpson is only seven but has a huge heart. He saw the pictures of Haiti children being rescued from the horrific earthquake that two weeks ago. Simpson felt disheartened to see their troubled faces
Simpson told AFP: "I just think it was quite sad when I saw the pictures on the TV".
His mother, Leonora told AFP: "He really felt strongly about this and thought that something had to be done".
So he wanted to do something about it, he decided to collect 500 British Pounds from others for the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) by cycling five miles around his local park in London.
Leonora set up a profile page for her son at the JustGiving site to collect donations. His profile page said the following:
A note from Charlie:
My name is Charlie Simpson, I want to do a Sponsored Bike Ride for Haiti because there was a big earthquake and loads of people have lost their lives. I want to make some money to buy food, water and tents for everyone in Haiti.
But instead of 500 pounds he raised more than 50,000 pounds in just one day. Now, the total has exceeded 120,000 pounds and rising.
Leonora added:
"But what started off as a little cycle round the park with his dad has turned into something a lot bigger than that and we can't believe it. I am extremely proud of our Charlie, he's done really well. He's worked hard and he's raised a phenomenal amount of money so we couldn't ask for anything more."
UNICEF was very impressed and happy with Charlie Simpson's efforts.
UNICEF Spokesman Michael Newsome told AFP:
"It's always heartwarming when any child starts to respond and there's something quite special about a child in the UK reaching out to the children of Haiti,"
It is a splendid effort from little Charlie for Haiti.

Incredible lifelike sculptures by Ron Mueck

The sculptures look very real. They are part of 12 sculptures that were unveiled during the opening of the new Ron Mueck exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia. The sculptures were crafted by Ron Mueck, who hails from Australia as well. Mueck currently works in Great Britain.

Macedonian Marko Calasan,9, shines in PC world
Marko Calasan is only 9 years but already has an impressive resume, is a Microsoft Certified Systems administrator for three years and currently helping a non-profit organization.

15-year-old Tyler Larronde rides a huge wave in Maui, Hawaii

Jaws wave is famous for its huge waves in Maui, Hawaii and surfers flock to ride this giant wave, it is like a Mt. Everest for them.
According to Wikipedia:
The surf break, a deep water reef break, is called "Jaws" due to the size and ferocity of the waves. The waves at "Jaws" can reach heights of 70 ft (21.3 m) on the face of the wave, moving as fast as 30 mph (48.3 km/h).

You can either eliminate or fight dandruff with shampoos and conditioners or you can use the following home remedies:

Mayor Shovels Snow After Twitter Request

A Twitter use Ravie Rave (@BigSixxRaven) sent a message to the Newark Mayor Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) requesting help for her 65-year-old father, who needed help shoveling the snow from his driveway. The Mayor responded quickly and asked Ravie where her father lived. Not only Mr. Booker contacted her father but also removed the snow himself from the driveway.
Mayor Booker left the following message to Ravie:
Please @BigSixxRaven don't worry bout ur dad. Just talked 2 him & I'll get 2 his Driveway by noon. I've got salt, shovels & great volunteers
The voter and his daughter are excited with Mr. Booker's response and follow-through in solving the problem.
How many political leaders will do this? Not many, but I hope there are many like Mr. Booker in the future.
